Fees
The current fee for a 50 minute consultation is $190. Clients who hold a valid health care card may negotiate a fee with Nadene prior to scheduling an appointment.

Rebates are available. Please see below for more information regarding Medicare and private health rebates.

Medicare Service Clients referred on a GP Mental Health Plan to a specialist Clinical Psychologist are eligible to claim a rebate from Medicare of $124.50 per consultation. Therefore, under a Mental Health Care Plan, your maximum out-of-pocket expense for Clinical Psychology services will be $60.50 or less (please note that the rate charged is less than that recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) which is currently $241 per 50 minutes).

Private Health Insurance

If you have Ancillary Cover with a private health insurance fund, you may claim a rebate for Clinical Psychology services. Clients should contact the relevant health fund for the latest rebate rates quoting the item code for an individual consultation of AO70. Private health rebates cannot be used in conjunction with a Medicare rebate.

Insurance Clients

Clients seeking treatment under Motor Vehicle Accident or Workers Compensation Insurance will be charged at the APS recommended rate. Invoices will be sent directly to the insurer. The client is liable for the cost of treatment if the claim is not accepted. The fee is $241

Referrals

A referral to see a clinical psychologist is only required if you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare. Referrals can be obtained from your local General Practitioner. Your GP is required to lodge a Mental Health Care Plan with Medicare Australia. When booking an appointment with your GP, be sure to mention you are seeking a Mental Health Care Plan. If you have problems obtaining a referral, please phone (or have your GP phone) Linden Clinical Psychology on 0411 564 587.

Under Medicare, all psychology Medicare services are limited to a maximum of 10 individual sessions per client per calendar year, with a review by the referring doctor required after the initial six sessions.

* Please note that a referral under a Medicare supported program does not automatically mean that there is no payment required. For most patients, a small gap or “out-of-pocket” fee is required on the day of your appointment. Currently the out-of-pocket charge is $60.50 per 50 minute session. It is important to check with us prior to your first appointment to find out exactly what costs are involved. Please note that the rate charged is significantly less than that recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) which is $241.
